Castillo de San Marcos

The Castillo de San Marco took 23 years to build and was finally finished in 1695. It has withstood multiple enemy attacks and is the oldest standing European fort in the United States. It is also set on the intracoastal and the view is magical at any time of day. Cannon firings, weapon displays, and other historical re-enactments are also displayed periodically during the week and at certain times of the year.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is St. Augustine's oldest surviving brick structure, and today the site is restored to colors and materials used the year 1888.  In 1876, a brick light keeper's house was added to the property, a triplex that held two families and a young, single, 2nd assistant keeper, most often of Menorcan descent. The St. Augustine Lighthouse rises 165 feet above sea level and contains 219 steps that are climbed by visitors. In 1998, the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum, Inc. was separately incorporated as a not for profit institution with a mission of history, education and community service.

Marineland

Located approximately twenty miles south of the city on A1A, Marineland is the Nation's oldest oceanarium, home to Marineland is home to the two oldest dolphins in captivity, Lillie Champagne and Nellie. Not only can you see daily shows at Marineland, but you can also swim with the dolphins! Marineland is also home to the University of Florida's Whitney Lab where they study marine animals.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not

St. Augustine is home to one of the famous Ripley's Believe It Or Not museums. Some of the items featured in St. Augustine include a gigantic Ferris Wheel, made by Meccano, Inc. and the world's largest moving erector model containing 19,507 pieces standing 21.3' tall. You can also come and see Beauregard, a Six legged cow, he lived 14 years with two extra legs growing from his back! Ripley's is open daily 9 am to 10 pm, 365 days a year!

Historic Downtown

For some of the best shopping in St. Augustine, visit St. George Street located in the heart of the downtown area. This three-block long, foot-traffic only street is host to over a hundred different shops where you can find everything from Florida souvenirs to antiques. It also has a number of eateries like the Spanish Bakery which features authentic Spanish food, the Milltop Tavern, and the Florida Cracker Cafe. Downtown St. Augustine is also host to attractions such as the Lightner Museum, Flagler College, the Casa Monica Hotel, the Castillo de San Marcos, and the Spanish Government House.

Alligator Farm

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is more than just an attraction, it is also a historic site. It had the honor of being listed in the National Register of Historic Places. They also work in conjunction with the University of Florida on studying animals such as birds, snakes, and, of course, alligators!

Mission Nombre de Dios

The Mission Nombre de Dios is the oldest mission in the entire United States of America. It was founded in 1565 by Pedro Menendez de Aviles after the area of St. Augustine was established. On the 400th anniversary of the mission the Great Cross was erected which stands at 208 feet tall! The Mission Nombre de Dios is a serene and beautiful location to tour. The combination of lush gardens and ancient statues creates the feeling of peace for everyone who visits.

World Golf Village

The World Golf Village is not only home to two beautiful golf courses (The King and The Bear and The Slammer and The Squire) but it also holds the World Golf Hall of Fame, an I-MAX movie theater, an official PGA Tourstop shop, a putt-putt course, and the Caddyshack restaurant owned by actor Bill Murray and his brothers.
